Revocable Living Trust
A revocable living trust is an estate planning document created during a testator’s lifetime. As long as the creator of the trust is alive and of sound mind, the trust can be amended or revoked.
The trust details how property placed within the trust should be managed and distributed during the trustor’s lifetime as well as upon his or her death or incapacity. Property placed within the living trust avoids this property being passed through probate, a costly and time-consuming process.
Additionally, unlike a Will, your trust ordinarily does not become a matter of public record, thereby maintaining the privacy of your family’s financial affairs.
