Britney Spears Family Battle Is Finally Over

Britney Spears’s conservatorship officially ended two years ago, but she’s only recently settled the legal battle with her father surrounding it. Spears’ father, Jamie, who is estranged from the singer, was asking for Spears to cover his legal fees. That matter has been settled, but the details weren’t disclosed. Mathew Rosengart, who represented Spears throughout this latest legal battle, stated that the singer was now fully free, as there are no more court proceedings on the matter.

Since her conservatorship ended, she has published a bestselling book and gotten involved in a number of musical collaborations, all of which would not have been possible during the 14 years her adult life was controlled by her father. Her attorney went on to say that he was grateful to be part of giving Spears back her liberties and civil rights. The end of this court battle represents another important milestone for her independence and autonomy.

Spears, who’s also gotten married and divorced since her conservatorship ended, hasn’t commented on the end of the legal issues or addressed whether her father won any payment for his legal fees. However, she seems to be moving forward with other areas of focus and not allowing these concerns to get in her way any longer. Jamie Spears’s attorney didn’t immediately have any comment on the issue, and there’s no word as to whether there will be a comment in the future.

Whether or not concerns persist about Spears’s mental state or ability to care for herself properly, she’s been through an extended court battle and won the right to fully manage her own life. Her father is no longer allowed to have any control over her, and ongoing court issues regarding money for legal fees and other expenses have been fully settled. With all that occurring, it’s now possible for Spears to fully move on and spend time on other pursuits.

Since she’s collaborated with other artists in the time since her conservatorship ended it’s quite possible that she’ll be offering new music in the coming months and years, which fans are undoubtedly excited for.
